Just before the launch of Nintendo’s home/portable hybrid console, I reached out to people around the game industry to get their takes on it.
I did this one on a tight deadline so I had to make a few sacrifices — such as breaking one of my favorite rules and agreeing to a handful of email interviews, some of which came back comically generic. So I had to throw a lot of answers out, and I think the story still ended up with a bit more of a promotional voice than I’d like. But hopefully there’s something worth reading in there.
I’m pretty happy with the final section, anyway, where we interviewed five executives who have launched game consoles over the past 40 years. So read it for that?
