When I started planning out the Street Fighter book a few years ago, one of the early ideas was to get three of the key people who worked on Street Fighter 2 to contribute. I wanted to have the game’s lead artist illustrate the cover, the game’s lead designer write a foreword, and the game’s lead composer write a theme song.
Well, one of them declined early on, and another agreed then later dropped out. But SF2 composer Yoko Shimomura came through. It took a long time to pull everything together, but I’m incredibly happy with the results, which Read-Only Memory put on a white 7″ vinyl with a bonus song from former Capcom composer Harumi Fujita, who also appears in the book.
